TREND ALERT: Kimono Craze!

Trend Alert: Kimono Craze!

A great addition to any outfit this spring & summer is a cute kimono! These can dress up a rather boring outfit, or can be paired with basics to make a look of their own.
Wether your kimono is floral, lace, long, short or fringy, you can complete a look by throwing one thon.

I recommend wearing longer kimonos with pants and the shorter kimonos with shorts (because that's how I wear them), but you're not limited to that option. Fashion is a way to express yourself, and whichever way you chose to do that is perfect. Your outfit should be unique as you are, so be bold and flaunt it!

The perfect Rainy Day attire

Since it's rainy and yucky today, here's a post about the perfect rainy day outfit.
Trust me, I know when the weather isn't nice, motivation to dress up is lacking, but have no fear. You can still dress cute, while keeping the comfy in your outfit.

The look pictured above is a chambray (denim) button up, J Crew herringbone vest and Hunter boots. This outfit will allow you to look comfy-chic while staying dry in the bad weather.

Hunter boots are my favorite rain boots, I have a black pair and they match with just about anything! These are a must-have in every fashionista's closet for rainy days!

Mix and match your bottoms, button ups and vests with your rain boots and I'm sure you'll be look fashionable while being well prepared. Also, don't forget to throw on a rain jacket (my favorite is a Northface) if you're going to be outside!

Stay Dry! XOXO

The sun is FINALLY shining!

Since the sun is shining bright today, you should break out your sunglasses.

You can never have too many sunglasses, right?
Having lots of different types and styles give you the option to mix and match with different outfits and change up your look.

Whether you have aviators, over-sized, brow-line, wayfarers or cat-eye shades, you can shield your eyes in style. My favorite are retro brow-line, but I have lots of different styles.

Go out and expand your sunglasses collection.

TBT

You may or may not believe it, but ankle strap heels are a TBT for sure.

This used to be a big 90's trend and now they have made a comeback.
I know we all love these, they're simple, chic and fashionable.
If you don't have a pair, you should definitely go get some. They are a great heel to have for summer! Aldo has tons of variations if you're looking.

Jewelry Trend - The Simple Things

Jewelry Trend - The Simple Things

Stock up on simple silver and gold layering necklaces for this summer.
The best types of necklaces for layering are simple ones. They can be geometric, just a chain, have some beading or a small charm.
Layering necklaces are perfect to pair with your spring and summer wardrobe & add a little boho-chic to your look.

Wear them for a night out or to the beach with your bathing suit, and I'm sure you'll have all eyes on you. Make a statement without the statement necklace!

Lots of stores are selling styles like these now, but I have picked mine up at a bunch of places. Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, H&M, Charming Charlies and Etsy have some super cute and versatile styles to choose from!

I have a bunch, but use this specific one for all the things I love, specifically FASHION.

Took a stack of old fashion magazines, started snipping away and viola!
Created this fashion inspired page with ideas, looks and pieces that I love. These books are a great way to get your ideas down on the page and inspire your inner fashionista.

OOTD Please!

Check out my OOTD!

With Spring approaching I can start to bring out all my fun print collared shirts.

One of my favorites is this cheetah top, because we all know cheetah print is now a neutral in the fashion world.

This J Crew shirt is a classic in my closet, paired with Banana Republic straight leg jeans and H&M black flats. I paired this look with some pearl jewelry and some gold arm candy to finish it off. I left my top un-tucked and wore flat shoes for a more casual look for class, but you can dress it up with a tuck-in, belt and heels for a night out.

Personally, I love bold colors, prints & patterns, but if you're more conservative, try to go with a less crazy print. Maybe solid colors with printed cuffs, and eventually you can work your way up to bold, comfortably.

I love to go out with a fashionable BANG each and every day, so if your're like me, bring on the BOLD!

Stay Cheetahlicious! XOXO

DIY Bracelet Hack Under $10

DIY DIVA ALERT!

This jewelry hack that will have you running to the craft store now!
Layered and wrap bracelets are the newest trend, and you can make them yourself! The picture above is a combo of store bought bracelets (with the arrows) and DIY bracelets under $10, and now you're going to know how to make them.

What you need to make this fashion statement happen

1) String of your choice - Pictured above is both colored knotting cord and a brown leather cord. This choice is up to you and the look you are going for. Dressy or casual, colors or neutrals, whatever your heart desires. Whichever you chose, make sure the beads fit.
2) Gold noodle beads - You can find these beads at any craft store or bead shop. They're super fun to craft with and have a chic look to them. Make sure you chose a bead that has the right diameter for the width of your string. Usually the thicker noodle beads work better for this project.
3) Gold crimps & fastener - You'll need the clamps to be able to attach the ends to the fastener and form the bracelet. I would suggest investing in a small set of jewelry pliers (especially if you plan to make more DIY jewels) because it will make your life much easier.

After you buy all your materials the process is pretty simple: Make your DIY bracelets & flaunt your new set of arm candy everyone will adore. You can change up the color, width and material of the cord to add a different look. Also, I suggest to make a silver set and a gold set, so you can pair them with whatever color metal you're wearing. Mix and match these with other bracelets you already have to always keep it exciting!
These beauties can be dressed up or down, and can make all your friends wish they had your style.

The nicer weather is coming!

After today's absolutely beautiful weather, I thought I should get you all up to speed on how to dress for the change of season.

Dressing between the frigid cold and sunny cool weather can be a challenge. Integrating spring colors into your winter wardrobe is not the easiest task but don't fret, I'm here to help!

Before you make the call on what to wear, make sure you look outside! If it's a sunny beautiful day, it will feel much different than the number on the thermometer, or same with a windchill.

My go-to change of season outfits are centered around thinner sweaters, tops with cardigans, jeans, lighter pants booties and flats. In this picture, the models wearing a light sweater, ankle pants and a plain pump. This is a perfectly simple outfit that allows you to dress for the bi-polar weather we're dealing with! (PS if it's still snowy and the ground is yucky with sand and salt, avoid wearing your nice shoes, they'll get ruined!)

We all struggle with dressing this time of year, but you'll be able to get through it. Start integrating lighter colors, springy jewels and cuter shoes to transition into sprig the right way.

Tips to Dress for Date Night

Hi Ladies!
I am happy to announce that although it's only Tuesday, it is Date Night for me!
Me and my amazing man are celebrating our 3 year anniversary tonight and I figured it would be the perfect time to give you all some advice to dress up for your date nights.

From upscale restaurants to a movie at home, you always want to wow your love with a fashionable outfit. Here are some essential tips to knowing just what to wear:

1) Know what you're plans are - yes, I know this sounds silly, but its relevant. You need to know if you're going on a hike, or to a club. Make sure you know what you are doing, so you can make the right decisions on what to wear. (P.S. if it's a surprise, ask exactly what they are wearing, and it should give you a good indication of how to dress).
2) Dress weather appropriate - this may seem obvious, but you would be surprised how many people mess this one up! If its a snow storm and the ground is covered with ice, maybe go with flats or boots rather than heels. If you really can't resist, wear a chunkier or wedge heel so you don't slip!
3) Dress for the occasion - many of you know how to dress yourselves, but if you don't, I'm here for you! I truly believe that someone can never be overdressed (yes that is a matter of opinion - but I say, go big or go home.. Right?), so if you're unsure of what to wear, you can always play it safe with your outfit and add more upscale shoes, jewels, hair and makeup to dress it up a bit.
4) No Matter What, Flaunt it! - if you're having a bad hair day or hate the way your outfit looks, DO NOT make it obvious. Work with what you have and deal with it, I bet your date has seen you in sweats and a messy bun, so they won't mind. You will look beautiful anyways.

Hope this helps when getting ready for Date Night!
