Make a statement with your Statement Necklaces on Display

Make a statement with your Statement Necklaces on Display

Do you have lots of beautiful necklaces, but forget about them in the clutter of other jewelry you have? Yes, I know, it happens to the best of us, but here is a super cute & decorative way to change that for good.

Find old picture frames laying around your place, or go out a buy some, and you will have the first piece of this super glam puzzle. You can mix up the frames in size, color, shape and style, and cater them to wherever you're going to put them in your room. (You don't even need the glass, because you'll be taking it out anyway.

Aside from the frames, you'll also need cork (cut to the size of your frame), a fabric/burlap to cover the cork with, and push-pins (either fancy or simple).

To create these beauties, all you need to do is replace the glass part of the frame with the cork wrapped in your favorite fabric, reattach the back and start adding your jewels! Use the push-pins to secure them into the cork and layer/categorize however you want!

This is a super cute DIY-hack brought to you by yours truly, Devoted Fashionista.

Jewelry Trend - The Simple Things

Jewelry Trend - The Simple Things

Stock up on simple silver and gold layering necklaces for this summer.
The best types of necklaces for layering are simple ones. They can be geometric, just a chain, have some beading or a small charm.
Layering necklaces are perfect to pair with your spring and summer wardrobe & add a little boho-chic to your look.

Wear them for a night out or to the beach with your bathing suit, and I'm sure you'll have all eyes on you. Make a statement without the statement necklace!

Lots of stores are selling styles like these now, but I have picked mine up at a bunch of places. Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, H&M, Charming Charlies and Etsy have some super cute and versatile styles to choose from!

DIY Bracelet Hack Under $10

DIY DIVA ALERT!

This jewelry hack that will have you running to the craft store now!
Layered and wrap bracelets are the newest trend, and you can make them yourself! The picture above is a combo of store bought bracelets (with the arrows) and DIY bracelets under $10, and now you're going to know how to make them.

What you need to make this fashion statement happen

1) String of your choice - Pictured above is both colored knotting cord and a brown leather cord. This choice is up to you and the look you are going for. Dressy or casual, colors or neutrals, whatever your heart desires. Whichever you chose, make sure the beads fit.
2) Gold noodle beads - You can find these beads at any craft store or bead shop. They're super fun to craft with and have a chic look to them. Make sure you chose a bead that has the right diameter for the width of your string. Usually the thicker noodle beads work better for this project.
3) Gold crimps & fastener - You'll need the clamps to be able to attach the ends to the fastener and form the bracelet. I would suggest investing in a small set of jewelry pliers (especially if you plan to make more DIY jewels) because it will make your life much easier.

After you buy all your materials the process is pretty simple: Make your DIY bracelets & flaunt your new set of arm candy everyone will adore. You can change up the color, width and material of the cord to add a different look. Also, I suggest to make a silver set and a gold set, so you can pair them with whatever color metal you're wearing. Mix and match these with other bracelets you already have to always keep it exciting!
These beauties can be dressed up or down, and can make all your friends wish they had your style.

The nicer weather is coming!

After today's absolutely beautiful weather, I thought I should get you all up to speed on how to dress for the change of season.

Dressing between the frigid cold and sunny cool weather can be a challenge. Integrating spring colors into your winter wardrobe is not the easiest task but don't fret, I'm here to help!

Before you make the call on what to wear, make sure you look outside! If it's a sunny beautiful day, it will feel much different than the number on the thermometer, or same with a windchill.

My go-to change of season outfits are centered around thinner sweaters, tops with cardigans, jeans, lighter pants booties and flats. In this picture, the models wearing a light sweater, ankle pants and a plain pump. This is a perfectly simple outfit that allows you to dress for the bi-polar weather we're dealing with! (PS if it's still snowy and the ground is yucky with sand and salt, avoid wearing your nice shoes, they'll get ruined!)

We all struggle with dressing this time of year, but you'll be able to get through it. Start integrating lighter colors, springy jewels and cuter shoes to transition into sprig the right way.
